Transportation Restrictions

 

Travel restricted during the following holidays:  New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Movement restricted when weather conditions make movement unsafe.

However, because of traffic, movements 85’ or greater in length and  movements in excess of 12’6” in width will not be allowed within any city limits or any heavily traveled adjoining commercial or residential area between the hours of 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (local time) Monday through Friday.

Superloads

Any transports exceeding the routine issued dimensions require special approval from the DOT.

Oversize Load Signs

“Oversize Load” signs required for any load over 10’ wide and for any overlength load.

Flags/Lights

18” Red Flags required at the widest point of any oversize load.

Blades

Bulldozer blades or loads with protruding sharp objects shall be loaded with the blade or
protruding sharp object to the rear of the hauling equipment when the blade exceeds 10’6” in
width. No permits will be issued for blades or protruding sharp objects creating width in excess
of 13’6″.
