Transportation Restrictions
No permit shall be valid for travel into or through the area bounded by I-285, which is the bypass around the city of Atlanta, unless the vehicle is making a pickup or delivery within the area. Driver must be prepared to show proof of pickup or delivery. In addition, a permit issued for the movement of a vehicle or load shall not be valid within that area between the hours of 7 AM – 9 AM and 4 PM – 6 PM Monday through Friday.
No permitted vehicle or load will be moved during foggy weather, or during snow or icy conditions, or during the following legal holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Permitted loads in excess of twelve 12’ wide shall not travel when visibility is less than 600’ or when the ground wind exceeds 25 mph. When such conditions exist, the driver must proceed to the first area where the load can be safely removed from the roadway.

Oversize Load Signs
“Oversize Load” signs required for any vehicle exceed legal dimensions
Flags/Lights
18” red flags required at the four corners and widest points of any oversize transport.
Blades
Blades over 12′ must be angled. Blades up to 14′ wide, if it belongs to the equipment, can be on
the same vehicle hauled if GVW is 100,000lbs or less.
Divisible Load Exceptions
Dozer blades may be hauled with the dozer attached, or if disassembled, loaded for minimum width and up to 100,000 lbs. gross weight only.
