Transportation Restrictions

 

Travel restricted any time on Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Travel is allowed on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  However, if any holiday falls on a Saturday, travel restricted on the previous Friday, and if the holiday falls on a Sunday, travel restricted on the following Monday.

Trucking Permits Goal - Coast 2 Coast Trucking Permits

In the Cripple Creek area, travel restricted on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and New Year’s Day during the hours of 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM on the following routes:

  • SH 24 between SH 67 at Divide and Woodland Park
  • SH 67 between SH 24 at Divide and Cripple Creek.

Travel restricted during inclement weather and adverse road conditions such as water, ice, and snow reducing actual lane widths, and visibility is less than 1,000 lbs.

Denver Area – Travel restricted 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Pueblo Area – Travel restricted 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 4:00 pm – 6:00 PM

Central City – Travel Restricted 3:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Anything over Routine Issue dimensions requires special approval by the DOT.

Oversize Load Signs

“Oversize Load” signs required for any oversize transport.

Flags/Lights

Red flags are required at the end of any overhang over 4’. At night, a red light is required at the end of overhang over 4’.
