Transportation Restrictions
Oversize loads are not allowed to travel during inclement weather.
Transports exceeding 12’ in width may not travel in the major urban areas of Jackson, Memphis/Southaven, and the Gulf Coast (excluding I-10) from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM and from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM on weekdays.
Travel not allowed during the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Travel stops at 12:00 noon on the previous day.

Movement is allowed on Saturday, but not Sunday.

Superloads
Anything over Routine Issue dimensions requires special approval from the DOT.
Oversize Load Signs
“Oversize Load” signs required for loads exceeding 12’ wide.
Flags/Lights
18” red flags required at the four corners of loads with widths from 10’-12’. Flags
Flashing amber lights required at the rear corners of loads exceeding 13’ in width and if at all over width at night.
Blades
Overweight dozer and blade must be attached, or else hauled on separate loads if blade is
detached.
