The following holidays are observed: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Trucking Permits Goal - Coast 2 Coast Trucking Permits

If a holiday falls on a Monday, then holiday hours are from Noon on the Friday immediately preceding the holiday to Midnight on the Monday on which the holiday is observed.  If a holiday other than Thanksgiving falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, holiday hours are from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM on the day of the holiday.  If a holiday falls on a Friday, holiday hours are from Noon on the Thursday immediately preceding the holiday till Midnight on the Sunday immediately following the holiday.

For travel during holiday hours or on a weekend over the portion of Interstate Highway 80 between Sparks (Exit 21 and the boundary of California or over the portion of Interstate Highway 15 between Las Vegas (Exit 33 and the boundary of California loads may not exceed 12’ wide, 15’ high, 110’ long, or 15’ overhang.

Operating Time

Transports under 12’ wide, 15’ high, 110’ long, or with 15’ overhang may travel during hours of darkness.

Weekend Travel

Loads not exceeding 14’ wide, 15’ high, 110’ long, or 15’ overhang may travel on the weekend.

Superloads

Anything over Routine Issue dimensions requires special approval from the DOT.

Oversize Load Signs

“Oversize Load” signs are required for any oversize load.

Flags/Lights

18” Red or Orange flags required at the four corners and widest points of any oversize load and for any rear overhand exceeding 4’.

Oversize vehicles require flashing amber lights on the extreme front and sides of the load while traveling at night.

Any rear overhang exceeding 4’ requires two red flags during daylight and two red lights for night travel.

Blades

Dozer blade can be detached and hauled with the dozer on the same trailer if the load would be
overweight with or without the blade.
